Practically every independent musician wants to be featured on popular music blogs. The trouble, of course, is that bloggers are flooded with new requests.
And, even if you do happen to find favor with a
blogger, they may not post more than a sentence on your music before they quickly
move onto their big fish. Musicians beg and pray and hope that the sentence
(or, if you’re lucky, paragraph is something quotable, something they can use
in their media kit.
Your Music Matters has turned this idea on its head.
Instead of reviewing music, they are asking musicians to submit their own paragraph
along with embeddable media (SoundCloud or YouTube) along with a link to their
website. And – this is the best part – there’s no word count limit.
Independent musicians interested in sharing their
message with the world should apply immediately, as this is a completely free
initiative taken on by the good folks over at Your Music Matters.
