Beatchain Announces Fan Builder, Automated Ad-Buying Feature for Artists

Using industry-leading technology and machine learning, Beatchain is launching its newest tool for artists and music marketers of all levels — Fan Builder.

Building off its unique big data dashboard of digital insights, Beatchain has created an easy-to-use feature guiding artists and music managers through building their fanbase with targeted ad buys.

If an artist would like to increase their Facebook or Instagram presence, or spread the word about a new song release, Beatchain’s Fan Builder feature can start an advertising campaign with just a few simple clicks. After setting a campaign goal, promotion budget, and timeframe, artists will select and purchase online digital advertising curated for them based on machine learning, with ads automatically targeted toward their own unique online audience.

“The amazing thing about Fan Builder is that it uses data from the artist’s own social media and streaming profiles to hyper-target ads that will focus on audiences that have already shown interest in their music and brand,” said Ben Mendoza, Founder and CEO of Beatchain. “This levels the playing field for independent artists and gives them access to the same tools and processes they’d get working with a marketing team at a major record label.”

During a Fan Builder promotional campaign, artists and brand managers can keep track of the rise in music video views or social media presence using Beatchain’s extensive data insights page, where they can see the return on investment through website page views, song streams, merch sales, email signups, and even in what country and city these originate, eliminating the black hole long associated with digital marketing.

“For as little as 5 dollars, artists can start a targeted digital ad campaign that is proven to find them more fans,” said Ed Godshaw, Beatchain CTO. “Even though we believe our distribution platform is best in class, we don’t see ourselves as a pure play distributor and don’t require artists to distribute their music through Beatchain to use Fan Builder. Fan Builder empowers artists to take their releases and deliver them to engaged and growing audiences.”

With the addition of Fan Builder, Beatchain is making good on its vision to upend the traditional way of marketing and distributing music, and revolutionizing the way artists are discovered. Currently, the Fan Builder tool supports both Facebook and Instagram advertising, but Beatchain plans to deliver both Google and Twitter Ads in the near future.

It was founded to bring all the tools together into one app and give musicians insight and control over almost every aspect of their careers, from their music, to their ads, to even their website.

SyncFloor, the leading marketplace for ready-to-sync music, is announcing its partnership with Artist Originals (AO), the in-house label and artist services division of JioSaavn, South Asia’s largest music and audio streaming service. AO has a unique catalogue of contemporary music, across genres by independent Indian artists.

AO tracks are now searchable and license-ready to creators using SyncFloor to find music for their projects, whether on SyncFloor’s general marketplace (, its podcast-only marketplace ( or the dedicated SyncSite that SyncFloor has created for Artists Originals’ content. “India has one of the most dynamic and exciting music scenes in the world, and there is a wealth of artists and songs to discover,” explains SyncFloor co-founder and CEO, Kirt Debique. “Artist Originals has a great selection of trendsetting tracks that reflect this energy and contribute vitally to the music available in our marketplaces. We’re glad we can help more production professionals explore these tracks and find the perfect song to fit their creative.”

Additionally, multi-talented female artists, such as singer-songwriter Chhavi Sodhani and trilingual rapper SIRI are creating projects with AO that redefine the way we look at genres. The catalog brims with music across genres in Hindi, Punjabi, Kannada, and English (or a characteristically cosmopolitan mix).

“Since our launch in 2017, Artist Originals has grown tremendously, empowering a number of South Asian artists and bringing their music to a global audience,” says Hiba Irshad, Director of A&R at JioSaavn and Artist Originals. “Our partnership with SyncFloor enables us to scale our ability to sync their music into major media properties. This visibility also creates additional avenues for emerging artists to scale and be discovered.”

The freshly minted startup has received its first investment from music industry innovator Jorge Brea, founder and CEO of Symphonic Distribution, and music marketing expert Janette Berrios.

Adell knows from experience how important early investors are. Brea saw the potential and signed on. “I personally invested in because I saw the idea had serious merit and the team had the skills and connections to implement it,” says Brea. “I have worked with Matt on a range of projects for over ten years, and I know he and his co-founders will be able to accomplish their goal of defragmenting the livestreaming space. Music Tectonics Does It Again: Swiveling and Going Online For Annual Conference

October 27-28, 2020 -- Online Conference

The Music Tectonics Conference is used to swiveling, and this pandemic is no different. Organizers announce the move of their second annual conference to a one-of-a-kind online event while keeping their original dates of October 27-28, 2020 and their futurist-yet-practical theme of seismic shifts in music tech. Music Tectonics will use technology that allows for highly interactive small-group and one-on-one networking, dynamic exhibitor/demo rooms, and top level presentations from industry leaders and thinkers. Registration is open now, at (General Admission $59, VIP tickets $300)

For two days in October, Music Tectonics will unite innovators across the music and tech landscapes. The slate of speakers indicates a focus on high-level analysis and roll-your-sleeves-up innovation. Confirmed speakers include:

Scott Cohen - Chief Innovation Officer, Warner Music Group (keynote)
Cherie Hu - Water & Music (fireside chat)
Jon Vlassopulos, Global Head of Music, Roblox
David Dufresne, Partner, Panache Ventures
Xavier Peters, Investment Manager, Leansquare
Lauren Pufpaf, Co-Founder/COO, Feed.FM
Tom Impallomeni, CEO/Co-Founder, Tribe XR
Kirt Debique, CEO/CTO, SyncFloor
More to be announced

Building on a successful first edition in 2019 in Los Angeles, Music Tectonics has grown a following for its music tech podcast, community-building events, and quick reflexes. The first Music Tectonics conference saw over 400 attendees gather from across the music and tech macrocosm. The devastating Getty Fire may have closed the original conference venue just 24 hours before it was to start, but the Music Tectonics team swiveled so quickly that the event went ahead on schedule in a new downtown venue far from the fires.

As the wave of coronavirus cancellations knocked down the in-person events where the music tech community was set to gather in 2020, Music Tectonics created a five-month series of #WeeklyWebsdays online meetups with guest speakers, networking, and a warm, welcoming vibe. To keep this growing community connected 24/7/365, the team launched a Music Tectonics social network for music tech that already has 500 members. (Mobile app available on the App Store and Google Play)

All that is just the opening act to October’s main event: the second annual Music Tectonics conference. “We designed our first major event to be different from any other industry gathering, leveraging serious business and big ideas with off-beat programming and enlivening deep networking opportunities with light-hearted fun,” explains director Dmitri Vietze, also CEO of music tech PR firm rock paper scissors. “I knew that this year, we couldn’t just put some talking heads on a screen and call it a Music Tectonics conference.” The aim of Music Tectonics is to provide a space where people from different sectors cross paths and connect, whether they’re with startups, major labels, indie labels, streaming services, distributors, social media platforms, investors, accelerators, legal experts, live event execs, gear makers, or consultants— in short, everyone who works where music and tech meet.

That’s why the conference will take place on an online platform that allows for the chance meetings, impromptu small group chats, and exhibitor hall demos that make in-person events worth attending. When they are not watching keynotes and breakout sessions, attendees can meet each other at randomized networking sessions, invite their connections to one-on-one video calls, or see live and pre-recorded demos at sponsors’ virtual exhibitor booths. “We’re programming exciting panels with sharp music tech thought leaders, but we’re also making space for serendipity,” Vietze muses. “VIP tickets will offer access to even more opportunities to connect with speakers and sponsors and get business done.’

Three music tech leaders have already signed on as top-tier Supernova sponsors: content monetization and music rights administration company AdRev, Music marketing platform Linkfire, and AI-powered audio curation platform Super Hi-Fi. AdRev Founder and President Noah Becker explains why his company signed on as a top Music Tectonics sponsor for the second year in a row: "Dmitri and his team did an exceptional job with the event last year, despite having to relocate venues last minute because of a fire. It was pretty mind-blowing how well coordinated he and his team are. Music Tectonics is attended by an exceptional group of like-minded music and technology entrepreneurs and thought leaders, and we are very glad to be back to both contribute and learn in this new digital format.”

Linkfire Chief Biz Dev Officer Andrea Arcari was also impressed by last year’s event: "Having attended the first edition of Tectonics in 2019, we knew it was a good space for us to be a part of. The MT team shared their vision of how they could take the event online and we were once again impressed by the approach and execution. We're looking forward to October and to this event!"  Super Hi-Fi CEO Zack Zalon adds, “We’re incredibly excited to be a part of this year’s Music Tectonics conference. We're looking forward to connecting and collaborating with like-minded people from around the globe whose focus is music technology and streaming music. For Super Hi-Fi, our mission is to help music experience providers deliver the next-generation of listening experiences. Music Tectonics is the perfect opportunity for us to share our vision and to learn from others at the same time… we really think this is going to be a fantastic experience overall."

While recorded music was the focus of most sessions in 2019, the 2020 edition of Music Tectonics will also explore other sides of the industry, including the pandemic’s livestream boom. Vietze elaborates: “While streaming recorded music was the nexus of innovation that drove major changes in the last 20 years, musicians adapted to the changing revenue picture by leaning into live event ticket sales. Now the ground has shifted suddenly again.” Conference sessions will also address music tech investment, music experiences within gaming and fitness environments, long-awaited traction in mixed reality, innovations in sync, and much more.

This Saturday, August 15, 2020 at 9 p.m. EST (6 p.m. PST), FanTracks will debut the world premiere of rock band 311’s Mardi Gras show in New Orleans, just a few weeks before Covid-19 shut down music performances around the world. Check out the trailer for the 311 Mardi Gras concert here.

From there we had scheduled to play all 50 U.S. states to celebrate with our fans, until our tour plans were derailed for the obvious reasons. So we’re grateful to have this memorable concert to share with our fans to thank them for thirty years of their continued support.”

Founder and CEO of FanTracks, Barry Summers, plans to continue the success by featuring 311’s dynamite performance at the Fillmore in New Orleans from February 20th. “I believe the 311 Mardi Gras show has already become an iconic event, given the circumstances of us filming it right before the pandemic hit. It was a fantastic show, and I can’t wait for the world to see it in 4K.”

The event will be hosted by longtime DJ and TV host Matt Pinfield, who will also follow up the concert with a virtual interview with band members Nick Hexum and P-Nut. Fans will also get exclusive deals on FanTracks and 311 merchandise during the show.

Good Music from Everywhere, Anywhere: Qwest TV unveils new channels and experiences far beyond jazz

Qwest TV, the on-demand music-centric streaming video service co-founded by Quincy Jones, is here to bring viewers worldwide proof of Ray Charles’s insistence that “good music is good music.” To do this, the service is adding new channels and a free, ad-supported tier of curated linear streaming video, a broadcast-like experience of the world’s best music.

Qwest TV is launching three new linear channels as companions and complements to its flagship Jazz and Beyond SVOD service : Qwest Jazz and Beyond, Qwest Classical (featuring top performances in dance and opera and a range of classical concerts) and Qwest Mix (an always-intriguing eclectic selection of electronic, hip hop, folk pop, rock, and other styles from all over). These genre- and cross-genre collections can be enjoyed a la carte on demand by subscribers or as a linear feed by all. Viewers can dive into the linear offerings without a subscription and launch their own exploration of quality sounds.

“We’ve always said we were about jazz and beyond,” explains co-founder and CEO R├ęza Ackbaraly. “Jazz shares its roots, branches, and fruit with thousands of other breathtaking musical styles and approaches. They embrace the entire world, reflecting the creativity of people of every color, background, and era of recorded music. We want to break down the imaginary barriers that divide a classical virtuoso from a young MC, and let people find good music no matter what the style or sound.”

The expansion fits perfectly into Jones and Ackbaraly’s broader vision for the service as an educational hub and entertainment source. Already, the service has offered hundreds of educational institutions free access to its wide-ranging, high-calibre offerings. It continues to marry tech and a bigger-picture dream of bringing more culture to more people, allowing them to discover that good music is everywhere.

“I was taught from the start that there is no singular approach to music,” Jones reflects. “Our society has been indoctrinated to believe an inaccurate narrative that classical music is only for classical enthusiasts, or that world music only appeals to specific regions of our Earth, or that bebop is only for the older beboppin’ jazz cats. Our music springs from the same roots, and they inform much of what we call mainstream music today. Our platform provides listeners with a new and approachable way to discover the music that they were never formally introduced to. It’s time to break down the barriers for any willing ear, and Qwest TV is here to help bring you to new uncharted musical territories.”

About Qwest TV

Qwest TV ( is a celebration of unique talents, traditions, and rhythms. With more than a thousand music-related experiences on offer, the video streaming service strives to be the world’s home for jazz, soul, funk, classical, and world music. Audiobridge Adds Longtime Digital Music Executive and Entrepreneur as Advisor

The innovative new music recording app, audiobridge, is announcing that current Board Member and previous CRO of LyricFind, Andrew Stess, is joining their team in an advisory role. Stess brings decades of proven success across the business media landscape, including as a CEO and founder of ampliFIND, which was acquired by Sony in 2011, VP of Consumer Electronics at All Media Guide (AMG), and in his current role as founder of StessCo Consulting Group LLC. Working with music and tech startups is a speciality for Stess, having spent the last nine years as a sales consultant and business development strategist for promising young entrepreneurs including Dash Radio and Music Story. In addition, Stess has closed deals and networked with the biggest music media companies in the world, including, Apple, Amazon, Microsoft, Google/YouTube, Spotify, Vevo, and Fender.

With a proven track record of developing businesses from the ground up, Stess is looking forward to sharing his expertise with a startup that promises to revolutionize the music recording industry.

“I love what Matt and the team are building and I am eager to work with them to help them grow and guide them to the next stage. I love collaborating with fresh new startups and they are well positioned to be very successful,” Stess said.

The timing for a business development mentor couldn’t be better for audiobridge, as they have recently launched a Wefunder campaign and a successful new suite of digital recording features aimed at helping musicians record music with the help of artificial intelligence.

Matt Miller, founder and CEO of audiobridge, knows that the future of music recording isn’t at a workstation, but on a phone. And he is excited to gather ideas from Stess on how to make the exclusively mobile recording app change the way music is recorded forever.

"It's been great having someone with Andrew's experience understand our vision and provide a fresh perspective. We've had great conversations so far and he's already brought us tons of insight on the best approach in taking audiobridge to the next level. The team here is super excited to continue to learn from him and deepen this relationship as we grow,” Miller said.

About audiobridge

audiobridge is revolutionizing how the world makes music. By building an easy, yet powerful recording and collaboration platform exclusively for the mobile devices that the majority of the world already uses daily, audiobridge significantly lowers the barrier to entry for creatives around the world. The audiobridge team is combining cutting-edge software techniques with a carefully planned user experience, creating the world’s first fully guided music creation platform. This will allow creators to focus on the nuances of their song rather than the nuances of the software.
